About Raku:

Austin, Texas (West Lake Hills) based Deborah "Raku" Dickson has a BS in mathematics from Southern Methodist University and spent her early career doing computer programming.
She has been practicing massage therapy since 2002 and includes among her bodywork skills Swedish, reflexology, and trigger point.
Raku has been performing energy work since 1996. In 2002 she became a Reiki Master and in 2003 in Austin and again in 2006 in Sedona she attended seminars held by Dr Eric Pearl. She now does Reconnective Healing and performs The Reconnection as detailed in his book "The Reconnection".

Raku's Healing Path:

The energy work called Reconnective Healing found me in 2003 in Wimberley, Texas. I had gone to a Reiki exchange and a woman I met there asked if I wanted to try something new that she had just learned from a chiropractor at a seminar. Certainly, I replied. What I remember most from the session is that my liver felt like it was lit up. I could feel its outline inside my body. I also had a vision of DNA strands spiraling and unspiraling above my body. I saw them coming apart and being changed and then spiraling back together. I was very excited and wanted to know more.

The chiropractor's name is Dr Eric Pearl. He has written a book called "The Reconnection" and now teaches seminars all over the world. The book is a fascinating account of how these frequencies found him and he began healing his patients just by waving his hands over their bodies. His website is www.thereconnection.com.

As synchronicity would have it, Dr Pearl was teaching at the Crossings in Austin soon after my session in Wimberley. I signed up and began my journey with Reconnective Healing. I have done a lot of energy work and I can tell that these frequencies are truly something special. I have always had visions and experiences during healing sessions but with this modality many of my clients have experiences of their own. My clients have reported seeing guides, feeling magnetized, feeling as though hands are turning them over, feeling as though the inside of their brains are being massaged, etc. And I am not touching them.

I have been a practicing energy worker since 1996. On Memorial Day Weekend in 1996 I found myself on a canyon ridge in Sedona being blasted by wave after wave of intense energy. The energy was so intense I felt as though I were on a bucking bronco and that the canyon ridge was trying to throw me off. I didn't know what it was all about but it soon became clear to me that it was all about healing. So I began learning all I could about different modalities of healing and started practicing on my friends, family, and coworkers (I was a computer programmer at the time). In 2001 I became Reiki Master and in 2002 I became a Registered Massage Therapist in order to touch people legally. In 2003 I attended my first seminar with Dr Pearl and got "The Reconnection" from Doug DeVito. Then , as synchronicity would have it, Dr Pearl was having a Reconnection conference in Sedona in 2006 just a few months before the tenth year anniversary of my Sedona energy blast. There I repeated Level I, finished Level II and III and became a Reconnective Healing Practitioner. (I also revisited the canyon ridge and gave thanks for this wonderful adventure.)

It is my pleasure to do this work. I feel that every session is an adventure and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the experience as the energy comes through me into my client. As Dr Pearl says, "I am just invited into the room". I am certainly not the one doing the work.
